Description |
Over recent years, Manchester has acquired a reputation as a hotbed of gang and gun violence, earning it the unenviable nickname of ‘Gunchester’. In this short documentary film, criminologist Dr Robert Ralphs from Manchester University, who has been researching the issue for some years, talks about his investigations into the city’s gun and gang culture. Coming from a background of urban deprivation himself, he reflects that he is not a typical academic researcher and explains how this can be a very helpful factor in his work. |
