Description

A trial takes place at Birchfields Road Depot where people with disabilities and mobility issues test the accessibility of a mock up of a Metrolink platform and vehicle. The event is led by Tony Young, Rail Systems Manager, John Brownhill, Rolling Stock Consultant and Bob Branwell from EGS Design, the architects responsible for designing the platforms. The trial is being conducted to ensure that the tram vehicles and platforms are designed to work well together in providing accessibility for all potential tram users. The people taking part in the trial are given the opportunity to ask questions, voice their concerns and make suggestions.
