Description |
The Royal Visit to Bacup, 9th July 1913, showing local dignitaries with their wives and families, including Joshua Craven Hoyle in army attire. John Henry Maden and family shown standing in garden of Rockliffe House. Large crowds of people in the streets of Bacup preparing for the arrival King George V and Queen Mary. The King and Queen arrive by car and are introduced by Lord Derby to the local Mayor and his wife, civic dignitaries, prominent members of the town and the old age pensioners of the Bacup area. The Royal couple then promptly leave. Includes various shots of the crowds on the streets of Bacup following the Royal visit - seen from a moving vehicle. A brief sequence shows Lama films advertising their film production on the side of a car. Concludes with footage of Tricketts Arcade in the village of Waterfoot. |
