Description |
Shows the large-scale, modern version of traditional cheese-making at the Co-operative Wholesale Society's creamery in the Vale of Clywd. Milk churns are delivered by lorry and emptied; the milk is pasteurised and pumped into vats where it is turned into curds and whey; the curds are pressed and scalded, then pressed again and stored to mature. After testing, the resultant Cheshire and Cheddar cheeses are cut, vacuum-packed and labelled "Llan Pak" for sale in CWS stores nationwide. |
