Description |
A film documenting the lives of Doreen and Arthur Hodgson, and Doreen's mother 'Nana' at New Ing Farm. The film opens with views of the village of Bolton by Bowland and countryside scenes. We see the work of the farm, and learn how Doreen and Arthur share the workload of the farm while Nana does the housekeeping and the gardening as well as smaller jobs around the farm. We see the family around the house and farm going about their work. There are farming scenes. We see how the Hodgsons care for their sheep and cattle and we see them at work on the land. We then learn the history of the herd of deer who live on the farm, starting with Arthur rescuing an abandoned fawn 'Bambi', who became so tame she would eat in their kitchen. Bambi eventually gave birth to more deer and the herd continued to expand, and we see how the Hodgsons care for their herd of tame deer, including creating a new paddock where they can all live together. |
