Footage of the candidates involved in the 1951 General Election in Burnley, followed by shots showing how to operate a film projector. Wilfrid Burke MP (Labour) speaks into a microphone, watched by a woman (presumably his wife), and another candidate (presumably D P Dunkley, Conservative) poses with his wife for the camera. The number of votes polled for each candidate are painted on to a large noticeboard before the candidates themselves pose for a handshake. |
