Description

Scenes featuring Manchester Italian Catholic Society Whit Friday Walk, showing people walking in procession from Ancoats to Manchester city centre. Begins with a woman with her children dressed for the Walk stood outside a terrace house, men carrying banners along the street and a young child (with Downs Syndrome) looking at the camera. Continues with the procession (including a brass band, choir boys and members of the clergy) walking down Portland Street. Footage includes men carrying religious and Madonna effigies, women dressed in traditional Italian costume and young boys wearing sashes (colours of the Italian flag).
