Description

This film documents the opening ceremony of the New Brighton outdoor swimming pool. The film starts with exterior shots of the building as visitors arrive. We then see inside as the dignitaries arrive. There are general views of the pool and then speeches are made by the Mayor Councillor H.J. Hall and Viscount Leverhulme. This is followed by diving and swimming displays watched by the crowd, one of the swimmers is named as N. Wainwright. The film ends with a fashion parade of women's swim and leisure wear around the side of the pool. The film also includes titles which give statistics relating to the size of the pool.
