Description |
A documentary on the Salford artist Harold Riley begins with views of Salford and the City Art Gallery before Harold talks about about his figurative paintings of Salford people. We see inside his soon to be demolished studio and views of the old and modern city of Salford. Harold Riley teaches local children how to draw and paint then walks his dog by the Manchester Ship Canal where he reminices about the old Salford, its streets, shops and characters. A dinner party with friends and family is followed by Harold discussing his portrait paintings and how these fund his other works. The film ends with Harold arriving at Buckingham Palace with a commisioned portrait of the Duke of Edingbrugh Prince Phillip. |
