Description |
The film opens with general views of the shopping streets in Clitheroe and then we see a street market. This is an event where the stall holders are dressed in Victorian clothes. We see large crowds of people looking at the stalls which are run by local groups such as the Brownies, the Women's Institute and local parish churches. Children watch a Punch and Judy Show and there are views of the stalls selling all kinds of things such as sandwiches, cakes and black puddings. There are also stalls where people can play games. We see a Morris Dancing performance and children dancing round the Maypole before the stall holders start to pack up the market and dismantle their stalls as the crowds disperse. |
