Description |
Scenes around the Fylde Coast and of steam trains in Carnforth and the Lake District. After a family visit to Blackpool Zoo, there are shots of the Lakeside and Haverthwaite railway. Mona's Isle ferry arrives at Fleetwood where construction work is taking place on the sea front. There are domestic scenes featuring son Keith and his family, before the film records the demolition site where Blackpool Central Station and the Palatine Hotel once stood. Stranded trawlers are shown in Fleetwood harbour and there are shots of the town before the Hodkinsons visit the 'Locomotion' event at Steamtown Carnforth. Concludes with footage of St Annes including the fire-damaged pier. |
