Description

A look at the way technology has helped work at Whitehead Mill in the Rossendale valley. Different processes are seen, including cotton waste recycling; dyeing; pattern production - artists at work in the design studio. Construction work is seen at Whitehead's cotton plantations in Southern Rhodesia (now referred to as Zimbabwe). Some uses of the fabrics they produce - for bedding, clothing, furnishings; also used by the forces - members of the army, navy and airforce are featured.
