Description |
Local Coronation celebrations include a crowd of people listening to a brass band performance in the outdoor theatre in Queen’s Park, Heywood, and later, the United Choirs Concert. In Manchester city centre, Albert Square, Piccadilly Gardens and surrounding streets are festooned with decorations; shops, including Kendals, are also decorated. Heywood’s shops have a variety of Coronation displays in their windows, and at Stanley Mill, workers dress up and celebrate. |
