Description

Chinese New Year celebrations in China Town, Manchester. On an outdoor stage in the main car park of China Town, individuals perform a range of martial arts, dances, stunts and other feats including breaking bricks, with a commentary by a DJ from Piccadilly Radio. Then a mass of balloons are released into the sky. Large crowds of people, lots of children and families. General shots of people departing from the area and many going into Ho's Chinese Bakery. Shots into Ho's Bakery of people queuing to buy Chinese cakes and confectionary. Then shots from inside the shop with people ordering cakes and being served. Ends with interviews with people in the streets about the events of the day - Was it a good New Year celebration? What is the meaning of Year of the Rat? etc. Shots of people in Princess St talking about the events.
