Description |
Comedy short about a challenge to race a bicycle between two Merseyside pubs. After a team from the Sandown Hotel in Seaforth loses a darts match at the Garston Hotel, the visitors want revenge and challenge their hosts to put forward a cyclist to travel from Garston to Seaforth in an hour, drinking 20 pints of beer on the way. Garston's reluctant candidate is 'Harry' who succeeds in his mission despite numerous sabotage attempts by the cronies of 'Big Des', the bookmaker who had hoped to make money from a defeat. Instead their interventions have unintended consequences, with the 'Lord Mayor' a regular victim. |
