Description

Documentary depicting the work of the Liverpool Daily Post and Echo and the lives of young Merseysiders at a time of transition and change. After early shots inside the busy offices, the film looks at the newspaper production process whilst reflecting on the social effects of Liverpool's slum clearances and the abandonment of older buildings. It highlights constructive youth projects, events and campaigns supported by the paper such as the Liverpool University Settlement and the Echo Challenge Cup for inter-school football. Concludes with the Echo being sold to passengers boarding the Mersey ferry.
