Description

The film opens with scenes of Elterwater in the Lake District, we see the Britannia Inn and the surrounding scenery. We then see a cricket match and a school sports day, school boys take part in running races and sack races while spectators look on. There follow scenes of a roadside picnic. A family are parked up by the side of a country road and they laugh while their little dog eats a big cake all to himself. We then see the family picking berries which they collect in bags. A couple are seen walking away from the Patterdale Hotel in Patterdale and then there are scenes of the local area and of the family climbing up hills and over rocks while very smartly dressed. The family go on trips to Carlisle and Keswick, we see the sights of Carlisle and street scenes from Keswick. There is a close up shot of a penny farthing bike, which looks to have been left parked up by it's owner. We see a man and some boys shovelling something from the back of a lorry, and the film ends with scenes of two boys playing football in the garden.
