Description

Record of the 1968 Grimsargh 'Field Day' and of activities on the family farm. Field Day footage features a procession through the streets of the village, with many children wearing fancy dress, followed by speeches, presentations and the crowning of the carnival queen at the village green. Several sprint and sack races are shown and there is a glimpse of various fete stalls. At the farm, hay is turned and baled in the fields using a tractor and mechanised equipment. Some of these sequences are shown in reverse. Ends with an elderly lady posing for the camera and sitting on a garden bench.
