Description

Scenes from Yealand Manor School life showing colour footage of a family in a garden posing for the camera, children eating ice creams and a trio of pupils practicing on their instruments during a music lesson. Includes shots of butterflies amongst flowers and children playing in the gardens of the Manor. Black and white footage shows boys playing with a train set and Headmistress Elfrida Vipont Foulds handing out sweets to evacuee children. Continues with colour scenes of children playing in the grounds during Winter, as female staff are seen pulling a young boy wearing a Red Indian costume on a makeshift sledge. Ends with colour shots of a man on horseback visiting the children at Yealand School with a pack of hounds.
