Scale model experiments carried out in the engineering department of Marischal College, University of Aberdeen, to study the effect on the flow of water passing into Manchester and Salford Docks by the proposed widening of the River Irwell. Dye is injected into the model and its course followed, with flows of 10,000 15,000 and 20,000 cubic feet per second. |
