Description

Whit-Monday 1937, the Hughes family visit Siddington where they feed swans on Redesmere Lake. In the amateur short film 'False Alarm', Mrs. Hughes baths and dries John before giving him some food. She leaves him in his pram but when she returns she is shocked to find a little girl there instead! Luckily, John was in his playpen the whole time. The next short film is called 'Tragedy' - Mrs. Hughes takes John out for a walk in his pram. She watches a biplane fly in the air, to her horror the plane "crashes." A close up of the "wreckage" shows an unconvincing model aeroplane on the ground. During the 'Nightlife' segment, we see shots of Blackpool illuminations followed by a bonfire and fireworks.
