Description |
Scenes from Whitworth Carnival 1971. Various carnival queens pose for a photographer and then we see the carnival parade featuring floats, dance troupes, Scottish pipe, brass and drum bands and people in fancy dress. There follow scenes of fireworks and a bonfire from the Whitworth Parish Church Bonfire Night and then we see boys and girls races at Tonacliffe School Sports Day. After shots of Blackpool Tower and the Illuminations we see the Healey Parish Sunday School and Hallfold Congregational Church Whitsuntide walks with members of the clergy, choirs, religious banners, a brass band and Rose Queens. |
