Scenes in 'The Firs', a maternity home in Leigh - the lying-in room, the nursery with a full complement of screaming infants, the incubator with children being cared for and weighed, and scenes of breast and bottle feeding. There are shots of the kitchen, with food being prepared by nurses, and the laundry, where nappies are being washed, and the film ends with fathers collecting their new babies and recovered wives. |
