Description

Film opens with footage of the victims of famine throughout the world. It then goes on to show fields ready for harvest and people queueing for food in Britain. The changes in land use to bring in more land for food production are illustrated, along with the increase in mechanisation. Much emphasis is placed on the need for skilled labour in farming and the assistance given by semi and unskilled labour given by volunteers. Shows food at a market place in Manchester and ends with a church service giving thanks for the harvest.
