Description

This is the story of what happened to Van den Berghs and Jurgens margarine factory at Purfleet during and after the floods of February 1953 - scenes of flood damage and the rescue/recovery operations; sandbagging; the Minister of Food visits; the Queen visits, meeting factory workers; aftermath of floods, clean-up, and re-commencement of production of margarine.
