Description |
Scenes of the May Day festival held in Reddish, on the 9th May 1931. The procession includes the 'Hyde Juvenile Prize Dancers' and the 'Godley Hill Morris and Acrobatic Dancers'. Children dressed in various fancy dress costumes parade down the street, followed by decorated floats, carts and bicycles. A group of young girls perform an acrobatic display at the gala field. A large crowd of spectators watch the crowning ceremony of the May Queen; Miss Hilda Howkins. |
