Description |
The film, with commentary by Gordon Winsland, considers the origins and route of the Rufford Branch of the Leeds-Liverpool Canal and the River Douglas, running from Wigan to the sea, noting the changes to the area over the years. Locations along the route including Burscough, Ormskirk, Rufford Old Hall, Holmeswood and Crossens Pumping Stations, Martin Mere wildlife reserve, Tarleton and Becconsall.
