Description |
Newsreel footage of two Charter days, both attended by Lord Derby. On a wet September day in 1935, a procession through Radcliffe is followed with Lord Derby planting a tree, making a speech and handing the Charter document to the Mayor. On Prestwich's Charter day, Lord Derby is seen laying a wreath on the war memorial before heading to the town hall and handing Lord Cawley of Prestwich the town's Charter. |
