Description |
A mayor-making ceremony in the council chamber at Burnley Town Hall, followed by a banquet reception at Burnley Mechanics Institute and a Mayor's Sunday procession at St. Peter's Church. Inside the chamber, there are speeches from dignitaries, councillors and the incoming mayor, Alderman Joe Herbert. There is a show of hands during a vote and the mayor signs a large book. Further speeches are delivered at the reception, which includes high angle shots of the guests at long tables, before the film ends with the mayor leading dignitaries and guests towards the entrance to St. Peter's Church. |
