Description

A party from Grange Park School, St Helens arrive at the Langdale Estate, Great Langdale for a holiday. They gather in the main square in Hawkshead and watch a May Queen procession and dancing displays. People painting by the River Brathay are followed by a walk to Colwith Force waterfall and Little Langdale, and paddling at Slater Bridge. They hike to Loughrigg Fell, go into Ambleside, play in Rothay Park and take a boat trip to Bowness. They walk from Great Langdale to Grasmere, eat ice cream at a cafe, visit Wordsworth's cottage and White Craggs rock garden, Clappersgate. The film ends with brief shots of Keswick and paddling scenes at Watendlath.
