Description |
A record of how electricity is produced and supplied to the National Grid by Skelton Grange power station in West Yorkshire. The film includes scenes of coal delivery by rail, full wagons being emptied inside the power station, and shots inside the turbine hall and boiler house. The process of electricity production is explained in the voice-over, in addition to facts about the power station and its immediate surroundings. The reel ends with a look at everyday household items – record players, fridges and vacuum cleaners, which run on electricity. |
