A day in the life of the Pickford family. The film begins with a jokey list of the people who participated in the film, and then we see scenes from the every day lives of the family. Mr Pickford gets up, he wakes his wife and then their children arrive in the bedroom. We see the children washing in the bathroom and Mrs Pickford downstairs making breakfast. The children eat breakfast before Mrs Pickford gives them some money and sends them off to school. Mrs Pickford then sits down to work at her typewriter. We see the children at school and Mr Pickford at work in the coal yard. The children walk home from school and Mr Pickford is dropped off in one of his lorries. Mrs Pickford gives him a cup of tea before he takes his bath, and then we see him back downstairs smoking a pipe while the children have their supper. After the children go to bed Mr Pickford goes to the pub where we see the barmaids at work, and the customers drinking, socialising and playing games. After Mr Pickford returns from the pub the Pickfords entertain at home. They have a few friends round and they drink, listen to music and dance. After the guests leave we see the Pickfords heading back up the stairs to bed. | |||

There are hay-making scenes with Jeff Cooper and others in a field, he has a horse drawn trailer loaded with hay and a lady rides on top of it. There are then shots of a man sawing through wood. We see Auntie Marie mending a deck chair and Marjorie Blower sat in a deck chair modelling a big frilly skirt for the camera. There follow scenes from a garden party at the vicarage. We see people seated round wooden tables playing bingo, and people play other games. People sit at tables drinking tea and eating cakes, and we see ladies serving the tea and cakes from a stall. Children play with balls, and there are shots of Stephen Plant with his children. We also see John Medley selling sticks. There are shots of swans on Clough Pool, and then we see scenes from the Bollington Carnival.
