Staff and children of Carr Mill Primary school arrive at Liverpool airport for their flight to the Isle of Man. The group visit the beach, go for walks, pick flowers, and visit Milner's Tower. The next day the group visit Colby Glen and Glen Helen. At Port Saint Mary, the children look for crabs in the rock pools. Later the group visit a boating lake where they hire boats and then visit the playground. The film ends with shots of the flight home followed by the coach arriving back at the school.

An assortment of holiday scenes from the Wild family in a variety of locations. We first see them in Grasmere, they drink strawberry milkshakes in a café called the Grasmere Tea Gardens and then visit William Wordsworth's grave. We next see them in Gretna Green where they visit the Old Blacksmith's Shop Marriage Room and watch a man playing the bagpipes. There are scenes from the Talyllyn Railway, they ride on the train and film the scenery along the way. The next trip is to Lake Windermere where the family go on a boat trip and film the surrounding scenery.

The Garner family caravanning holiday to Fleetwood begins with beach scenes as the children play and the adults sunbathe followed by caravan interiors with the family playing cards, reading comics and washing up. A baby in a pram outside the caravan and the Garner children on a bicycle followed by scenes down by Fleetwood's harbour, paddling in the sea and a paddling pool as well as walking along the promenade.
