'Son of Metropolis' features shots of a modern city (St Peter's Square, Hulme, Piccadilly Hotel and other Manchester tower blocks) and an inventor trying out his 'drive-able chair'. A second idea shows two men challenging each other to a duel to see who gets the girl and the final idea showcases club facilities with young people playing badminton. There follow out takes from the rest of the film together with family scenes including Jane and Christine playing with the family dog.
