| In St Andrews Church hall in Cleveleys, churchgoers say goodbye to Mr. Hodson after his farewell service. In the next scene we see a sponsored walk taking place to raise money for Christian Aid Week. The chairman of the councillor Mrs. Cass can be seen helping out. Members of the youth club hold a fund-raising car wash. This year the Mothers Union deanery festival was held in St Paul's Church North Shore. It was a very windy day and the women struggled to carry the banners in the wind. In the next scene, members of the Ladies Guild wait for the coach which will take them to North Wales for their annual day trip. On Civic Sunday, the church service was attended by Chairman of the Council - Councillor Hibbert and his wife. In June, the Thornton-Cleveleys Gala was held which included the St Andrews Church Sunday School Queen. In separate scenes we see the procession of witnesses - where all the Churches of Thornton-Cleveleys join together and take part in the procession. Next we see scenes from the wedding of Wendy Claridge to Ian Pritchard. Friends and family look on as the happy couple have photographs taken outside St Andrews church. In the next scene we see churchgoers arriving at the church for a special service to commemorate the Battle of Britain. After the service a procession is held, led by the band followed by members of uniformed organisations such as scouts and girl guides. The film ends with shots of the Concorde flying over Blackpool. | |||
