THE BIG SLIDE

Film featuring a project undertaken by Fairclough builders to consruct and then slide into place a railway bridge, spanning the M67 at Hyde. Opening with aerial footage of the site the film shows the dismantling of a stretch of railway line, sliding the bridge into place and re-assembling the railway line. Much of the work took place at night. The film closes with shots of the completed bridge and stills of bridges erected in the same manner by Faircloughs.
