SHIP CANAL CENTENARY SOUVENIR Format VHS Running time 60 minutes Price £12.99	A compilation from the archives of the Manchester Ship Canal Company, produced in association with the North West Film Archive. This video provides a fascinatiing insight into the first one hundred years of the Manchester Ship Canal. Colour footage and black and white film from as early as 1912 shows the Canal at work. See the construction of the Queen Elizabeth II Dock at Eastham, and go behind the scenes of the Dock Office in 1967.
A NORTH WEST JOURNEY - BUSES, TRAMS & TROLLEYBUSES 1927-1935 Format VHS Running time 53 minutes Price £19.50	A compilation of rare archive footage wonderfully filmed by transport enthusiasts in the 1920s and 1930s. THE PICTURE HOUSE - a photographic album of North West cinemas (A4 paperback book, 92 pages, £6.95)

The story of 'going to the pictures' - from the early fairground bioscope shows and the local bughuts to the luxurious picture palaces of the 1930s and the sad fate of many cinemas since 1950s - is told in 180 photographs. The cinemas, their staff, the publicity stunts used to attract audiences, the films made showing local working people, local stars and performers, the rivalry of television - are all inside The Picture House.

Video Resources for Schools	Working with teachers and educational advisors, the North West Film Archive has produced three educational video resource packs for classroom use, all dedicated to supporting the teaching of key subjects within the National Curriculum.
