Scenes of the May Day festival held in Reddish, on the 9th May 1931. The procession includes the 'Hyde Juvenile Prize Dancers' and the 'Godley Hill Morris and Acrobatic Dancers'. Children dressed in various fancy dress costumes parade down the street, followed by decorated floats, carts and bicycles. A group of young girls perform an acrobatic display at the gala field. A large crowd of spectators watch the crowning ceremony of the May Queen; Miss Hilda Howkins. [The preservation of this film was funded by a grant from the National Heritage Memorial Fund.]

Members of the O'Grady family are seen sitting outside a large house; one man reads a copy of The Tatler. Some army officers stand in a garden studying a map. A military procession marches down a street accompanied by a brass band. Further footage includes scenes of a group of children playing in the garden. Two of the children wear full Red Indian costumes and sit outside a make shift wig-wam.

The film begins with shots of a passenger steam train departing from a railway station and arriving at Euston. Various tourist attractions around London are visited, including Windsor Castle, the River Thames, Trafalgar Square, London Zoo, Thames Embankment and The Strand.
