There are a large number of procession queens, statues and banners, and groups of schoolchildren. We also see several shots of the "treasured relic" of St. Mary's - a stone cross in the churchyard. Glengarry topical newsreel includes items on the Daily Mail Ideal Home Exhibition held in London in 1932 and the maiden voyage of a White Star Liner -'Georgie'- which set sail from Liverpool on June 25th 1932. The Mayor of Liverpool, Alderman J C Cross and Captain Summers are seen posing with other passengers on board the ship's deck as they have their photographs taken. The film also includes footage of London's New Victoria Coach Station.

Scenes of Stockport Carnival in 1932. Decorated floats and fancy dress competitors gather at an assembly point before the procession starts. A group of young girls perform various acrobatic displays as they walk along the procession route. High angle shots of the parade show the crowd lined streets. At the festival ground Miss Marjorie Bradley is crowned Carnival Queen.

The material appears to be shot in Gloucestershire (?), Somerset and Cornwall, despite the title.

A film of Edward, Prince of Wales, visiting Widnes on November 24th, 1932. The local MP (J. Roland Robinson) is seen strolling towards the camera with his wife, before shots of HRH arriving by car in the rain-swept Market area of Widnes, being greeted by the Mayor. Veterans of the 'South African' (Boer) War line up along the street all wearing their medals and there is an assembled group of girl guides all in their uniforms. The film ends with close ups of some members of the crowd.
