Film opens with shots of Manchester decorated for the Coronation - bunting and Union Jack flags - including Piccadilly Gardens (also by night), Deansgate, and Oldham Street. In Albert Square trams and two policemen are seen passing in the foreground. Children jump about for the camera in a residential street, and two parties are seen, one on Robert Street, the other at Ferndale Gardens, Kingsway. Brief shots of a sleeping child (the filmmaker's daughter, Jean) are followed by her trip to the zoo. A wide variety of animals are seen, and an elephant ride carrying about ten people.

June Rendell is seen on a merry-go-round at a fairground, and in the garden at home. Doug and Fred Rendell ride a motor cycle outside the house, and various members of the Rendell family are seen leaving a house in Gisburn and horse riding. The rest of the reel is the Linton Gazette; members of the Rendell family are seen in the garden of the family home, 'Linton,' in Ashton-on-Mersey - dancing, playing bowls and football and running around - they go on holiday to St Annes-on-Sea, and are also seen at Whipsnade Zoo, Otterton Village and Ladram Bay in Devon.

[LANCASHIRE STEEL CORPORATION - IRLAM WORKS]

Scenes from different departments in the steelworks at Irlam. On the finishing and inspection banks, steel girders are seen in the loading yard, on the straightening machine and being cleaned and finished prior to dispatch. In the mine arch plant, girders are bent into shape and assembled into the finished arches. In the foundry, views of the pattern and moulding shops are followed by the steel being heated and poured into the moulds. In the roll turning shop, there are views of the drawing office and template room, and large steel rolls are turned on a lathe into the required shape. Finally, a large steel shackle is seen being forged by steam hammer in the blacksmith's shop. The compilation reel begins with scenes from the 1935 August Bank Holiday weekend. The group enjoy a picnic before visiting the seaside in Rhyl. The film cuts to scenes of a mother and her baby, she gives the baby a bath before taking the baby out for a walk. The film cuts to a invitation to the wedding of Robert Leslie Hughes and Doris Johnson at Warrington Parish Church. Guests can be seen arriving at the church, soon followed by the bride. After the service, the newlyweds leave the church as guests throw confetti on them. The film cuts to Good Friday 1936, when they visit Betws-y-Coed where they have a little tea party and picnic.
 
 
 
THE HOLCOMBE HUNT POINT TO POINT RACES

Crowds gather for the Holcombe Hunt Point to Point races. A tic-tac stands on top of a car whilst signalling the odds of the various horses and a bookmaker can be seen taking bets. We see shots of the horse race followed by a panoramic shot of the race course. The film ends with slow motion shots of the horse jumps.

Films opens with a rail journey to Fleetwood, passing through a tunnel and past another train. The rest of the film is devoted to a holiday in the Isle of Man - beach scenes, donkey rides, views around Douglas, funfair including a rollercoaster, an open air church service, and a scene of a Punch puppet being mended as children look on. There are also shots of 'Turkish and German graves in a wayside cemetery' and of Great Laxey waterwheel.
