Groups of people assemble in town, meeting and chatting on the street. At the beach, women feed the seagulls, go on a fairground boat ride, and they feed chips to the gulls both on the beach and from a wooden pier, A family assemble in the garden - the girls are wearing school uniform - and sit together. There is a shot of horned cattle in a field, and there is a garden where an old man mows his lawn, while a very old man receives a buttonhole. The location shifts to a clifftop walk. In what seems like an earlier period, very formally dressed people play with a small child, and sit in deckchairs.

Continues with street scenes from different decades and places- possibly around the Walton area of Liverpool, young girls performing an outdoor dance display and children on slides in a playground. Includes shots of London market stalls, a strong man act performing on the street and Dirty Dick's Wine House in Bishops Gate. Further footage shows the 1951 consecration ceremony of Liverpool's Catholic cathedral, a trip to Llandudno and shots of the North Wales coastline seen from a moving train.

Crowds of people are seen watching the parade. Various Midland companies are seen advertised on floats, a series of floats are mocked-up as a train. A traction engine is also seen. Various civic dignitaries line up for the camera prior to his arrival, and are then introduced to the Prince at the train station.
