The Wain family's ration books are seen in the hall of their home, and Judith and Kathryn are seen with baby George Peter in the garden. The family go to the opening of Pole Bank Gardens on 26 August 1944, and Judith and Kathryn try different hats on their baby brother. On VE Day, Kathryn, Judith and Peter are seen in the garden with the day's paper and waving Union Jacks. In August 1945, the family go on holiday to St Anne's, where they are seen playing on the beach and at an open-air swimming pool.

The production of children's slippers at a Burnley factory. On the factory floor, uppers are cut to shape (a procedure known as 'clicking') and joined together using sewing machines. Workers operate a variety of machines to assemble, mould and finish the footwear. Film of various events, processions and visits - most of the footage is shot in Horwich and Bradford. The various processions feature floats, people in fancy dress, soldiers and children dancing. There are scenes of a play being acted out, Belle Vue Zoo (?) is featured and there are streetscenes from Bradford and Bolton. The Coronation decorations in Manchester's Piccadilly Gardens are seen and there are shots of trains in Bradford Railway Station.

The Edwards family are seen on the beach on different occasions. They play on the beach and in the sea and the adults are seen sitting on a sand dune. We also see them playing cricket on a caravan site. There are snow scenes and we see people sledging down a hill. There are scenes from day trips to Cumbria and of a display of military biplanes. There are brief scenes from Princess Elizabeth and Prince Philip's trip to Mansfield in 1949. We see the royal couple from a distance as they wave to the crowds from their car. The film ends with scenes from a family wedding. We see the bride and her father arrive before the wedding, and the wedding party posing for photos with their guests after the ceremony.

This film consists of a wide variety of short scenes and we see various people, places and events. The film opens with scenes from an informal game of cricket. We see a group visit to Knaresborough Castle, we also see the group in rowing boats on the river. There is a display of folk dancing and we see a choir performing outdoors. There are scenes from Buxton, the title for these scenes is 'I.S.D.C Trip to Buxton Aug 15th 1948'. There are then scenes from Liverpool titled 'Mrs Entwistle sails for America - Liverpool April 1950'. These scenes includes shots of the Britannia in dock and shots of the Liverpool docks area. There are scenes from New Brighton, Blackpool, Happy Mount Park in Morecambe and Heysham Head. We see informal games of tennis, a child making sandcastles and then there are scenes from an outdoor pool. A show is taking place there, there is a comedy diving act and a 'Bathing Beauty Contest'. The women wear a wide variety of styles of bathing costume for the competition. The film ends with scenes from an indoor ice show.

A party of holiday makers visit the seaside resorts of Blackpool and Southport. Includes shots of the promenade, beach, pier and fairground. Spectators stand watching the Royal cavalcade parade past.

Doug and Joan Rendell are seen having a snowball fight in a garden. They are then seen in a variety of different Llandudno locations - the Happy Valley Park, on the beach and on the promenade. They are seen walking through the streets of Runswick Bay in Yorkshire and also in the garden of Joan Rendell's parents, 'Ballabeg' in Bowdon near Altrincham.

THE SCHOOL FILM [HOLY INFANT'S SCHOOL]

Activities taking place at the Holy Infant's School in Bolton. A school master is seen showing a group of young boys how to correctly hold a cricket bat, during a games lesson - outside in the playground. Miss Cowen teaches a new dance to a group of senior girls - they all lock hands and dance around the school field, in a large circle. Concludes with brief close up shots of final year students, prior to them leaving the school.
 
 
 
[HAY MAKING; SNOW SCENES; ROUGH SEA]

Haymaking scenes near Todmorden in West Yorkshire; a man sits on a horse-drawn scythe whilst other men rake the cut hay. Snowy scenes in Prestbury village and the Cheshire countryside. There are brief shots of Mrs Ricketts and her family wearing fur coats and eating a picnic at Hatchmere near Delamere Forest. The film ends with scenes of a rough sea crashing against the sea wall at Meols on the Wirral.

Members of the Manchester Amateur Photographic Society are seen at Ringway Airport, after WWII. As well as aeroplanes, there are scenes inside the departure hall and the control tower, and passengers are seen boarding their flight. The group also visit a power station [probably Barton]. There are scenes of the coal being unloaded from barges, and views inside the turbine room. The film ends with the Hart family making breakfast at home
 
 
 
[JUNE'S WEDDING AT ST PETER'S, HALE]

Friends and family arrive at St Peter's Church, Hale, followed by the bride, June Rendell. The happy couple are seen outside the church, posing for photographs and leaving in a car. Members of the Rendell family are seen at the family home, 'Linton' in Ashton-upon-Mersey - in the garden and in the kitchen. Joan Rendell is seen in the snow-covered garden, as well as Fred Rendell and his family in the garden of their home in Timperly. The film ends with a visit to a ruined abbey.
