Also taking part in the parade are members of youth organisations, children and adults in fancy dress and various decorated floats.

The film begins with brief shots of a church interior during Christmas time. In the next scene we see Patricia and John in horse races held in Wakefield. Lovely shots of baby Philip in the car smiling for the camera. In the next scene we see men compete in a game of tug of war, races and later the winners receive their prizes. In separate scenes children take part in Appley Bridge walking day.

The film contains footage of two separate weddings. In the first wedding the bride (Ruth Dalton) exits a churchyard and boards a horse drawn carriage. Brief shots of a decorated shire horse during Wrightington walking day. In the second wedding we see family and friends arrive at the church soon followed by the bride (Brenda Roocroft). The bride and groom exit the church and have photographs taken. The film cuts to scenes of a pageant held on the grounds of Chatsworth House. We see baby Philip in his pram being entertained by an elderly family member. People (including John and Patricia) dressed as historical figures pass by on horses.

Scenes from a Leach family holiday to the Isle of Man. We see scenes described as being from Peel. We see street scenes, the children building castles on the beach and swimming in the sea, and scenes from a ruined castle. We also see the family watching fishermen at work, unloading fish from their boat onto a lorry. The family also do some fishing in the sea. At Port Erin we see the family on the beach and taking a ride on a heritage steam train. We also see a horse-drawn tram. At Castletown we see views of the area and they visit historical ruins. At Laxey we see the family walking in the hills and looking at sheep. They also visit a water mill. There is also a trip to a park with lots of types of birds, including pelicans, penguins and flamingos. At Ramsey the family have a picnic then take a boat out on to a boating lake and walk along the seafront. The film ends with sunset views.

Scenes from the Crewe Carnival parade with marching bands, dance troupes, navy cadets and floats. The Santa Fe Express is one of these floats with the steam train made from paper flowers and at the Carnival show ground we see it receiving the first prize certificate and the float builders celebrating with champagne. The film ends with shots of a helicopter display team followed by a motor bike display team riding through fire.

Tractor-pulled carnival floats then a boy hand crank starting a tractor followed by the parade; starting with a marching band, floats, fancy dress and Rose Queens in a convertible car. At the showground we see the Rose Queen coronation ceremony and a parade of the floats and prize giving.

Footage shot on Sir Geoffrey and Mrs Haworth's trips to Iceland. Features views of mountainous areas, including hot springs and areas of volcanic activity. Also includes farming scenes: cattle, horses, sheepshearing and greenhouses as well as fishing and whaling boats in a harbour.

Footage of the West View Old People's home in Northwich - residents are seen in the dining room, enjoying a sing-song at the piano, and relaxing in their rooms. There are shots of a basket-weaving lesson, scenes in the kitchen and shots of the nurse preparing medication. At a special event, the Mayor and Miss Crewe attend, giving out presents and joining the assembled throng in the Hokey Cokey.

Insight into the life of author, journalist, traveller and artist William (Billy) Holt and his faithful horse Trigger in Kilnhurst, Todmorden. After calling the horse from his field, Mr Holt paints in the loft of his barn as Trigger eats hay. Billy shows us around his house, discusses a display of his work in an art gallery and talks about his books. He describes his companionship with Trigger and how they have travelled around Europe together. Trips taken by 3rd Barrow-in-Furness (Grammar School) Scout Troop,1969-1970. Youth Hostelling trips in the Lake District in October and Snowdonia at Easter. For New Year 1971 the scouts visit Louhrigg - hillwalking and outdoor activities, and scenes with the scouts cooking dinner, eating, and relaxing. Summer camp is in Galloway, with walking in the mountains and playing on the beach. Spoof shots of scouts being attacked by a lion and some crocodiles - shots from nature documentaries spliced into footage of the scouts themselves.
