After initial scenes on a Mersey ferry and the city streets, Guyler visits the Silver Room at the Town Hall, the Parks Department and the Mersey Docks and Harbour Board. Shots of industrial work at Speke (distilled water and tyre production) precede footage of motor racing at Aintree, and the ventilation system for the Mersey Tunnel. Guyler views plans for the rebuilding of the city centre, stonemasons work on the Anglican Cathedral and there are scenes inside the Liver Building clock. The film ends with a performance by the Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and a montage of the city at work and play. | |||

A few people go for a ride in one of the planes. Back at the school and the 'England vs Ireland game', the winning team celebrates and play with their friends and family. Later the two teams pose together for a school photograph and receive their trophies. In separate scenes the family spend time together in the garden, the young boy rides his bicycle and the young girl roller skates. Later the two young girls take part in a Whit Walk. Salford Lads' Club boys are seen leaving the club building in Salford and arriving at London Road Station in Manchester to go to camp in Aberystwyth. On arrival, the lads are seen getting washed and presenting themselves for inspection. A meal is prepared and eaten, and some of the boys are seen washing up afterwards. Drinks are handed out and the whole group poses for the camp photograph. On a day trip to the beach at New Quay, the lads and leaders are seen larking around, relaxing and playing football. A more organised game of football is played back at camp. The lads are seen swimming and diving in the river and on the last day, there is footage of the tents being packed away, and everybody getting onto coaches to go to the station. | |||
