[THE HUNT, OCTOBER 1969]

Huntsmen ride whilst hounds race about alongside into the forest. Women and three children stand and watch. A kill is made and the hounds tear apart their catch and fight amongst the remains. Huntsmen blow their horns in unison before everyone departs for home.

We see various cars drive past and round a corner followed by a steam train entering a station then taking on water as a crowd of railway enthusiasts watch on. The cars at the finish line in Blackpool being looked over by the public and some drivers and passengers in period 1920s costume posing for photographs.

The veteran cars are met by a man in uniform as they stop at the stage finish in a 1000 mile trial race at Fulwood Barracks in Preston. The cars park up on the parade ground where they are inspected by members of the public who take photographs of the many cars.
 
 
 
[THE OFFICIAL OPENING OF THE ALGER MILL BY RT. HON. MRS BARBARA CASTLE MP 21 MARCH 1969]

The official opening of Alger Mill by Rt. Hon. Mrs Barbara Castle, 21 March 1969. We see scenes from Barbara Castle's visit to the mill, owned by Qualitex Yarns Ltd. She arrives in an official car with a police escort and is greeted by senior staff members. We then see her 'Touring the Third Floor with Mr. Peter Scragg'. In the next scenes she is seen 'Touring the Second Floor with Mr. Michael Likierman'. Finally she visits the 'Fourth Floor (Inspection Dept.)'. On each floor she is shown around and given the opportunely to speak to the staff who operate the machinery. This is followed by a press conference where Barbara speaks to the press. Afterwards there is a reception with a buffet where Barbara gives a speech and unveils a plaque to commemorate the opening of the mill. Finally there is a 'Fashion Parade' of the garments made by Qualitex Yarns. Barbara goes backstage after the show to meet the models.

Boys playing football in the garden then views of Greenmount cricket club with spectators drinking beer and sitting in front of the pavilion. A close up of the Eastham Sheild trophy which is then presented to the winning captain. Children and adults eating ice cream and cake at a garden party held to raise funds for the cricket club.

We see the coin toss and match action including the only goal from Man City's Neil Young before the Man City captain Tony Book lifts the trophy and is lifted himself onto the shoulders of his team mates on the pitch.
 
 
 
THE COUNTY RALLY LINNET CLOUGH 4TH - 6TH JULY 1969

Scenes from the Linnet Clough Scouts County Rally which was held from the 4th to 6th of July 1969. On the Friday evening, the scouts set up their tents, make some food and gather for speeches from a scout leader. On Saturday they take part in scout activities such as archery, pioneering and practice first aid. They later go sailing in Compstall followed by grass skiing. After dinner, they sit and listen to a man sing and play the guitar. After the scout certificates are handed out, there is more singing and dancing.

After brief camping scenes we have the pedal powered go karts along Blackpool's promenade as well as a unicycle race followed by a march past by all the go karts and their teams of cub scouts. After breif scenes of the cubs on a train we have various camping scenes with the cubs washing and eating as well as playing in a river, rock climbing and playing cricket Parts of this film appear to have a camera fault/ flash frames
 
 
 
THE FAMILY OF ST. ANDREWS

Outside St Andrews Parish Church in Cleveleys there is a sign for patronal festival. Girl guides, brownies, scouts and cubs line up outside the church before taking part in the procession. Crowds gather to view the procession including the mayor. In the next scene a group of women board the coach to attend the Mothers Union Deanery Festival. Upon arrival the women take part in the procession. A home-made title card reads 'Christian Aid 'Helpers' 1969' - volunteers take part in a fund-raising car wash outside St. Andrews Parish church. A sponsored walk is also held to raise money for the charity. The Mothers Union visit a children's home in Natland. Children help out with the gardening, play games and pose for the camera. Later members of the junior youth club depart St. Andrews church to spend a weekend at Whalley Abbey. In the next scene we see different floats taking part in the procession including St. Andrews parish church's Sunday School Queen. A Sunday School festival is held at St Peter's Church in Darwen. A brass band lead the procession followed by clergymen, children and the Sunday School Queen. Back in Cleveleys, members of the youth club prepare to set off for a trip to Windermere. Later guests arrive at the church for the wedding of the Vicar's daughter. The bridesmaids arrive soon followed by the bride (Carole) and her father. Later the newlyweds pose for photographs outside the church. In the next scene children and parents arrive at the church with food and flowers for the Harvest festival.
 
 
 
[BELLE VUE DISPLAYS]

The film opens with scenes shot from the window of an aeroplane, we see the sea and islands. There are then scenes from a display at Belle Vue. There is a marching band followed by a police dog display where we see a demonstration of how the dogs have been trained to catch criminals. There is then a horse jumping display, afterwards, parachutists jump from a plane and land on the showground. There are shots of spectators in the stands.

Scenes from a display at Belle Vue - we see people on motorbikes and on horseback complete various tasks. There is also a gymnastics display. After brief shots of the Kirkmans at home we have scenes from another wedding with the bride, bridesmaids and guests arriving at the church. Photographs are taken before the bride and groom depart in the wedding car.

The Shaw children paddling in the sea at Cleveleys then playing on the slides and sailing a boat in a paddling pool . A boy in a paddle boat then enjoying donkey rides on the beach followed by majorettes dancing. After swimming and using the big slides into a swimming pool we have the first man on the moon filmed off the TV. Next we have views of the blacksmiths in Gretna Green in Scotland then picnics, crazy golf and a phantom ride along a coastal road. The film ends with scenic views of the mountains and lochs, a car on a ferry and walking the dog in the countryside.

Club members rock climbing followed by a phantom ride on Blackpool promenade during the Illuminations then campsite volleyball. More ships on the Mersey then a game of rounders on the beach followed by club members gardening, a bicycle race and hiking in the snow.
