A compilation of scenes from the Brice family. We see the children scrambling on rocks in a stream, and feeding the ducks and swans. There are scenes in the garden. We see the children wearing their school uniforms and playing with their toys. There are also brief scenes of John's birthday party. There are snow scenes. The children play with sledges in the garden, street, park and a country lane. There are seaside scenes. We see the family at a zoo, the seaside and at a fairground. We also see the children outdoors playing 'Babes In The Wood'.

The family sat watching TV drinking tea and eating cakes then in the garden. The gravestone of Annie Rowland dated April 15th 1966 with flowers and cards. Children on a traction engine, one of them is smoking a pipe! A coach trip to Woburn Abbey with views of a safari park, a carousel and vintage cars. Christmas with the family drinking and watching TV followed by views of Market Drayton high street including a child on a ride in Woolworth's window. More zoo animals then a new housing development and airport scenes. A trip to Ireland by ferry featuring terraced street scenes, a grave marked Somerville, a tent on a beach and the ferries departure from Belfast.
 
 
 
DR WHEN

A short spoof of BBC's Doctor Who. The Doctor is seen in his lab preparing fuel for his TADRIS [sic], then once fuelled, he lands on a modern suburban street and enters a home. As he explores the house he is amazed by its modern appliances and has to drink whiskey to calm his nerves. Two passing policemen arrive and breathalyse the Doctor, but before he can be taken to the station he escapes in his TADRIS.

Gracie Fields interviewed on the Island of Capri in a programme presented by Fletcher Markle. Includes archive clips from some of her films and performances. Her husband and tourists on Capri are also interviewed. Gracie and her husband are seen at various locations including at their hotel.

The film also includes shots of a child washing up, a new housing development and the interior of a Radio Manchester marquee. There is also a brief excerpt from the feature film 'Moby Dick' filmed from a television screen.

A film shot in and around Stockport town centre. Houses, roads and the centre of Stockport are viewed from a train heading into Stockport station, and there are views of the viaduct. The Collin family are seen on holiday in Seaton, Devon in 1969 as well as in the garden at home in Oldham. The family visit Manchester Airport to look at the planes, and their son is seen setting off for school. The family are seen at home at Christmas in 1969, having a celebratory drink, playing with presents and building a snowman. Another trip out to Foxdenton Hall to feed the ducks, and the Collin's children are seen playing on bicycles in the garden.
 
 
 
[ROBINSON'S BREWERY: IN THE BAR]

A group of men (possibly Robinson's workers) are seen in a pub, drinking Robinson's products, smoking and talking. The landlord is seen bringing new Robinson's stock into the pub.
 
 
 
OLD ENGLISH CRAFTS; OAT CAKES MADE BY THE SLATER FAMILY

Film showing the process of oat cake making as practised by Mr and Mrs Slater from Preston. After shots of oat fields, a water wheel and a cottage, the film moves to a cottage bakery where Mrs Slater mixes batter. There are shots of the cooking process, in which Mr Slater is seen using a throwing machine that flips the batter onto a hot backstone which cooks the oval-shaped oat cakes. The cakes are turned with a knife then removed from the stone and placed on a cooling rack. The film ends with Edith Hanna preparing and serving oat cakes to three children. A PRINTING JOB

Letterpress printing work at W. E. Lord & Co. in Earlestown, Lancashire. Ernest Lord enters his office and answers the phone before setting up and operating a Heidelberg Printing Machine. There are close up shots of the machine at work. Mr Lord and his daughter Barbara proofread a flyer for the Warrington Photographic Society and a guillotine is used to trim reams of paper. Concludes with lead being melted down and poured into ingots in preparation for re-use. [Catalogued as part of 'Revitalising the Regions' - a Screen Heritage UK project, 2011]
 
 
 
[FALMOUTH AND THE BEACH]

A family holiday in Cornwall. They are seen on the beach, the children paddling in the sea in bright sunshine. We then see mum and children at the hotel, and shots around the hotel, including of the bedrooms, garden and conservatory; also of bunkbeds and a chamber pot. Further scenes outside show the girls buying ice cream from a van, the harbour with ocean liners and smaller boats in view, and a car lot. General street scenes around Falmouth include the window displays and interiors of china and souvenir shops.

Vehicles are directed by traffic signs and a traffic warden down a busy street. The River Ribble flows under a brick bridge and labourers use a mechanical digger and crane to shift earth to build the Whalley-Clitheroe bypass. Surveyors work and cattle return to the farm at night. Traffic drives quickly along the new bypass. A farmer observes the change in the landscape, a train passes close to the bypass. There are shots of the gardens, ruins and cemetery at Whalley Abbey, and of the River Ribble. The busy street is now quiet, there is little traffic. Children play in a playground.
