Next we have a concert at the high school for girls by the Simmons College Chorale from Boston USA, an art exhibition and the Jubilee Tattoo at Townley Hall Park which features various funfair rides and display teams on the show ground. After the Jubilee Bonfire we have nice scenes of 4 street parties. The surrounding villages of Cliviger, Worsthorne and Hadgate have their own Jubilee parades with fancy dress and decorated floats as well as sports events and dog shows. Events are held throughout the day these include children's country dancing, knobbly knees competition and children's running races. A fortune teller reads the cards while in the village hall the cake and flower arrangement competitions are held before the villagers enjoy refreshments of tea and sandwiches. After more dancing and egg and spoon races there is a barbecue with sausages and burgers. There are various stalls such as a crockery shy, ten pin bowling, darts and hoopla to help raise funds. The film ends with the children eating, singing and dancing around the bonfire. | |||
