Family members are pictured in their front and back gardens doing a variety of activities such as setting up deckchairs, riding a bike, trying out a model railway, blowing bubbles, playing with pets and gardening. After a newspaper headline declares the end of the war, a man runs a union jack flag up a pole attached to his garage. Also features holiday scenes from Llandudno and Scarborough. OLD ENGLISH CRAFTS; CLOG IRON MAKING

The making of clog irons by blacksmiths at Thomas Green's shop in Silsden. A mix of traditional and more modern tools and techniques are employed to make both the 'heel' and 'front' irons. The film includes the use of the foot-powered Oliver Hammer, hand-bellows for the hearth, the hardy, the anvil and a swage block to shape 'front' irons. The blacksmiths also use mechanical tools such as a punching machine to make nail holes in the 'heel' irons and a power hammer to reduce their physical work. They work as a team to increase productivity as the narrator notes the demise of the hand craft of clog iron making. The film ends with a pair of irons on display. Scenes showing everyday life in the Bernhard Baron Sunshine Home Nursery School for Blind Children in Kingswinford, Staffordshire. Begins with shots of children playing on a beach, with toy boats in a paddling pool and in countryside with animals.- followed by a caption 'But for some children many of the usual pleasures are denied'. Continues with footage of blind children getting dressed and playing in the garden of the nursery school. Further scenes include children engaged in various indoor activities; including singing, learning Braille and painting. Shows children having a meal, at bath time and a nurse putting a young girl to bed. Ends with shots of staff members outside the school. OLD ENGLISH CRAFTS; THE CLOGGER

Traditional clog-maker John Casson produces a made-to-measure pair of boy's clogs in his workshop. After measuring the boy's feet, Mr Casson is shown using a variety of specialist tools and knives to carve out the wooden clog sole, hammer on the irons, cut the leather uppers to shape and fix them together. The film ends with the smiling boy trying on the finished pair of clogs. Compilation of racing films; beginning with off-road time trials where the cars are racing over muddy moorland. Close-up shots of drivers and families enjoying picnics at the event. Footage of cars in a village square, then racing through parkland. Next, a rally begins and more long shots of off-road driving and close-ups of timing equipment. A mechanic performs repairs on a broken-down racing vehicle. A large crowd watch a racetrack event. Footage of the finish line at another race where the co-driver leaves the vehicle at the checkpoint in order to perform tasks, including hammering a nail into a plank of wood and threading cotton through the eye of a needle.
