On Easter Sunday 1948, members of Warrington and District Master Bakers Association can be seen sat on a coach ready to travel to Llangollen. They spend the day walking around the town and later stop for a picnic. On Easter Sunday 1948, the group travel to Llandudno. They travel by bus and stop off at The Singing Kettle in Lloc for a break. Once in Llandudno, they walk along the promenade and the beach. The film cuts to June 1949, some people play bowls on Lymm Hotel bowling green. Others have tea and refreshments outside on the hotel grounds. In 1951, the group visit Windermere where they look around the town and then take a boat trip out on the lake. In May 1951, they visit Llandudno again. They arrive at the hotel and walk around the grounds. The film cuts to Lymm Hotel in June 1951, a woman looks after a baby in a cot while others play bowls. In 1952, the group visit Betws-y-Coed where they stay at the Waterloo Hotel and visit Swallow Falls. In 1953, the group hold their annual party at the Grand Hotel in Llandudno.

Made for showing at an exhibition stand at the British Industries Fair, for the William Pickles Group of Manchester, the film shows the handling of cotton from the unloading of cotton bales, through the various processes of carding, spinning, weaving and dyeing, to a display of finished bales and made up goods. A film showing the research department of ICI at Hexagon House in Blackley and the testing of new rubber materials. Various tests such as streteching, rubbing, abrasion distortion and reaction to temperature and atmospheric conditions are seen. The moulding of latex into model fish is seen, and also the testing of vulcanised latex rubber.

Peter Sykes is seen putting up the Christmas decorations, as well as stockings for his son Geoff. Geoff Sykes plays with his presents in the sitting room on Christmas Day. Geoff and his father go to St Anne's on the Sea War Memorial Hospital to collect his mother Florence and baby sister Judith - whose Christening is also seen. Geoff learns to ride a tricycle and sail a model boat with his father, and there are scenes from a church fete, including a film show and an early version of a jukebox. Geoff is seen playing in the garden with some other children and his sister. A lorry is loaded with crates, probably connected to the family's engineering business, and the film ends with a family trip to the seaside.

Film covering different aspects of the work and activities of the public library service in Burnley. After opening shots of library committee members studying a map in a committee room, a town council meeting is addressed by the mayor and the library chairman. Members of the public use facilities at Burnley central library including the reading and magazine rooms, a display of maps and the music and reference libraries. Staff undertake tasks such as shelving and withdrawing books, and preparing, sorting and cataloguing stock. Scenes of general activity at Marshall and Rosegrove libraries are followed by the opening of the new Burnley Wood Branch library, attended by the mayor. Speakers address an audience at the inauguration of the Gramaphone Record Library, before the film ends with shots of an art exhibition.
