Geoffrey Grime and his sister Jane are seen playing in Bluebell Wood, having a picnic with their parents and on the banks of the River Wyre at Cartford Bridge. The family go on a camping holiday with friends during Whit 1952 and there are scenes on the beach at Rossall and feeding a baby starling at home at Bispham. At Norbreck Primary, the children are seen with presents for Mother's Day, and José and John Grime take a break during a tennis match with friends. Further scenes on the River Wyre at Skippool and on the beach at Cleveleys are followed by brief views of a flooded River Tyne at Featherstone in Northumberland.

Brief views of John Grime at a newspaper conference in the Cotswolds, and the family are seen on the beach at Poulton in 1952 and Silverdale in 1953. A jet plane is seen flying over Blackpool, as well as close-up of the newspaper story covering the event. Jane Grime plays on her tricycle and the family are seen in Haltwhistle, Northumberland - riding a horse, in a park and by the Tyne.

A soapbox derby on Southport beach-front from 1952, followed by prize-giving and speeches by local civic dignitaries. Members of 13th Preston (St Thomas) Scouts are seen on two annual camps, including the 1953 Coronation Year trip to Oban. The boys are seen on boats in the harbour, setting up camp, and visiting the Highland Games at Glencoe (which are then re-enacted back at camp). Various different races from a cub scout sports day in 1952 conclude.

Compilation reel opens with scenes outside Bleasdale House Special School in Silverdale featuring Mr and Mrs Farmer, the parents of a boy who has cerebral palsy, visiting their son Nigel. There are exteriors of a tobacconists' shop in Oldham before Keith Joynson in his RAF uniform plays with a cat in the back garden of the family house in Failsworth. The Farmer family are seen on holiday in the Scarborough and Whitby area in good and bad weather. Guides, scouts and brownies take part in a Whit Walk in Failsworth before the film ends with Kathleen Joynson posing for the camera in her garden with friends. LOCO ENGINEERS VISIT 6TH MAY 1953

Members of the Institute of Locomotive Engineers visit the Vulcan foundry in Newton-le-Willows. After arriving at Vulcan Halt station they visit a range of locomotives outside the works before the tour continues inside. The guests take afternoon tea before departing. The remainder of the reel features colour footage of a fire drill at the foundry with firefighters taking hoses up to the roof, and company leisure activities (on the bowling green and scenes from the Junior Sports Days of 1952 and 1953). Brief shots of an aeroplane taxing along the runway of Manchester Airport, views of the sky from the aircraft and Amsterdam street scenes seen from a moving car. Coronation preparations in Albert Square in Manchester showing Union Jack coloured banners and flag decorations, and the Moss family are seen celebrating in their garden. Further footage includes the children at Heaton Park in winter, at home playing in the garden and a visit to Belle Vue Zoo. The reel ends with Vanessa in her cot.
 
 
 
[JUBILATION CELEBRATION AND GARDEN PARTY]

The film shows different student events. First is a student engineering show, with students presenting their creations such as organs and pocket cigarette lighters. The next section follows students around the University's Jubilee Celebrations in 1952, with students eating, dancing and socialising. Lastly there are shots of the students' Boat Club, and footage from a Garden Party in 1953. Students are seen fencing and dancing.
 
 
 
[EASTER WEEKEND 1952; MOTOR CROSS TRIALS]

The film opens on a close up of various leaflets for different events over the 1952 Easter weekend including Cheshire Moto-Cross, the Lomax Cup trial and Rhydymwyn motorcycle road racing. On Saturday 12th of April, they attend the Cheshire Moto-Cross event. Crowds gather to watch the race, the first Cheshire Moto Cross winner was Ted Ogden. On Sunday the 13th of April, the Lomax Cup trial was held. Motorcycles and sidecars tackle the rough terrain and steep muddy sections. On Monday the 14th of April, Rhydymwyn motorcycle road racing takes place, brief shots of crowds gathering to watch the race. May 1952, scenes from the Warrington and District Motor Club Regularity Trial. Motor enthusiasts gather, some with vintage cars as well as modern. In June 1953, Chester Motor Club Sprint Trials Meeting was held. Sprint cars wait at the start line followed by mechanics inspecting the cars.
 
 
 
[CHESTER ZOO; SMOKEY HIS MARK; DOWN ON THE FARM WALCOT]

At Chester Zoo, a woman and a young boy look at the various animals such as peacocks, bears and monkeys. Back at home, Smokey the kitten explores the garden and climbs trees. On a farm in Walcot, we see various farm animals and twin girls playing on the farm. The girls later help a woman with the gardening before riding their scooters. Cattle make their way into a field followed by a farmer on his bicycle. The film cuts to May 1953, under Chester Road Bridge, a diver can be seen descending a ladder from a boat into the canal. Later, the diver climbs back onboard and has his suit removed. Back at home, a man plays fetch with his dog while a group of women chat in the garden.
 
 
 
[MANCHESTER CHURCH PROCESSIONS AND A DAY IN SOUTHPORT]

Compilation reel recording different community events - several Cheetham Hill street processions and the crowning of Rose Queens, and a group visit to Southport, where the day trippers visit the fairground. go out on the boating lake, and lark about in the sunshine.
